MAYA
POLSKY RESIDENCE
A total of 15 windows were made to augment the design of the art
gallery
owner Maya Polsky’s North Shore home. These glass panels are
a good example of combining sandblasted glass with stained glass. The
sandblasted insets add another layer of subtle details that would be
much more labor intensive and costly if done in individual pieces of
cut glass.
Sandblasting of a single window pane, shower doors, and mirrors can
also
be produced. The process utilizes a resist masking that is laid over
the
glass and then hand cut so either the foreground or background is
peeled
away to expose the glass to the sandblasting.
