BISTRO
MARGOT - STAINED GLASS ARCH
The drawings were taken directly from nature begin the process of
design for this large arched window that becomes the focal point of
Bistro Margot’s decorative second floor addition that was
designed by designer Vicki Tesmer of Tres Jolie. The naturalistic
sketch was created from direct observation of a lemon tree. A
small-scale idea sketch was then created from this original. After the
client's approval of the the full-scale layout that shows every piece
of
glass in proper placement the cutting and fabrication of the piece now
begins. This project utilizes the copper foil method that
features opalescent glass made by Chicago Art Glass. A row of
pinch-back glass jewels enhances the window’s lower border.
he window glows with the warmth of a languid lazy summer day, even on a
chilly
afternoon in the Windy City.
